On October 10, the inauguration ceremony for the 75th Building, now known as the "Convergence Hall," was held in front of the newly reconstructed building on Seoul National University’s Gwanak Campus. The three-year-long reconstruction project, which began in 2021, was completed with significant attention and support. The ceremony was graced by university representatives and distinguished guests from various fields.

The 75th Building has been rebranded as the "Convergence Hall," symbolizing a space where multiple organizations come together to foster a new culture. The term "Convergence Hall" carries a profound meaning. Jang Pan-sik, Dean of the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences (CALS), explained, "It signifies the synergy that can be achieved by the four institutions housed in this building working together, aligning with the values CALS pursues in response to societal changes.“

The building will accommodate the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, the Historical Records Archive, the Alumni Association, and the University Newspaper. It is designed to meet the diverse spatial needs of these institutions while providing shared spaces to enhance interactions and create opportunities for collaboration. This reconstruction has granted each institution access to newly tailored spaces.

The Historical Records Archive features storage and exhibition spaces located from the basement level 2 to the ground floor. Park Heung-sik, Director of the Archive, expressed his anticipation, stating, "The various exhibition spaces will showcase Seoul National University’s identity and its achievements in education and research, fostering a sense of connection among alumni.“

The Alumni Association’s meeting rooms and offices are located on the second floor, while the University Newspaper’s offices span the second and third floors. Floors four and above are allocated to CALS, featuring research labs, lecture rooms, administrative offices, a student startup center, industry-academia collaboration spaces, and the Agricultural and Life Sciences Shared Equipment Center.

The newly inaugurated 75th Building is expected to not only meet the diverse spatial demands of these institutions but also provide opportunities for collaboration through shared spaces. It is anticipated to become a representative hub for communication and cooperation at the university, generating positive synergy among its occupants.
