On October 10, the inauguration ceremony for the newly reconstructed 75th Building, now named "Convergence Hall," took place at Seoul National University’s Gwanak Campus. This event marked the completion of a three-year reconstruction project that began in 2021, receiving significant attention and support throughout its duration. The ceremony was attended by university representatives and distinguished guests from various fields.

The renaming of the 75th Building as "Convergence Hall" reflects its new role as a hub where multiple organizations converge to foster a culture of collaboration. Dean Jang Pan-sik of the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences (CALS) elaborated on the meaning behind the name, stating,
"It signifies the synergy achievable through the cooperative efforts of the four institutions housed here, aligning with CALS' mission to address societal changes."

Convergence Hall will accomodate the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, the Historical Records Archive, the Alumni Association, and the University Newspaper. The building has been thoughtfully designed to meet the diverse needs of these institutions while promoting shared spaces that encourage interaction and collaboration. Each organization now benefits from newly tailored spaces that support their unique functions.

The Historical Records Archive, spanning from the basement level 2 to the ground floor, includes storage and exhibition spaces. Park Heung-sik, Director of the Archive, expressed excitement about the new facilities, noting, "Our exhibition spaces will highlight Seoul National University’s identity and achievements, strengthening alumni connections."

The Alumni Association occupies meeting rooms and offices on the second floor, while the University Newspaper’s offices are located on the second and third floors. The upper floors are dedicated to CALS, featuring research labs, lecture rooms, administrative offices, a student startup center, industry-academia collaboration spaces, and the Agricultural and Life Sciences Shared Equipment Center.

Convergence Hall is anticipated to not only fulfill the diverse spatial needs of its resident institutions but also to foster collaboration through its shared spaces. It is expected to become a central hub for communication and cooperation within the university, generating positive synergy among its occupants.
