SNU College of Agriculture and Life Sciences (CALS) has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with Nanjing Agricultural University (NAU), China.
A delegation from SNU CALS, headed by the Dean, Dr. Hak Lae Lee, met Dr. Qirong Shen, Vice President, Dr. Hongsheng Zhang, Director of International Relations, and Ms. Wei Wei, Coordinator of International Relations. The SNU delegation includes Prof. Jin-Yong Choi, Associate Dean of International Relations, Prof. Jeong-Han Kim (Applied Life Chemistry), and Professor Emeritus Yong Woong Kwon (Agricultural Biotechnology).
NAU is a multi-disciplinary national key university and one of the first agricultural institutions to offer four-year bachelor programs. It ranked 38th in the 2012 China University Ranking. A 2012 analysis of research citations by Thomson Reuters Essential Science Indicators found NAU among the top 1% of institutions in the fields of Agricultural Sciences, Plant & Animal Sciences and Environment/Ecology.
With this MOU, both universities will reinforce the collaborative foundation to promote research cooperation of mutual interest and solid academic ties by attracting distinguished students and researchers from China.
